Celebrate Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

Do you know? Recent health care reforms have helped millions of Americans access acupuncture and Oriental medicine treatments.

According to the Council of State Associations, an acupuncture advocacy group, more than 3.1 million adults visited an acupuncturist in 2007, a figure that has risen sharply over the past decade.

While NCNM celebrates this ancient medicine every day, we’re joining in the national celebration and awareness raising that goes with the annual Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) Day October 24.

  • All Chinese medicine books (with a few special exceptions) are 15% off in the NCNM bookstore from Oct. 20-24
  • October 23: presentation by Dr. Bryan McMahon on “Navigating the Energy Pathways of the SanJiao: Diagnosis and Clinical Application.” Room 322, Academic building, 8 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
  • October 23: Two-hour basic traditional Yang Style TaiJi practice led by Zhong Ying Yang. Room 305 Academic building, 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
  • October 24: presentation by Sylvie Martin on “Structure of the Energy Body and Hierarchy of the Channels and Acupuncture Without Needles.” Room 322, Academic building, 8 a.m. to 9:50 p.m.
  • October 24: presentation by Dr. Li Xin on “Qi Mechanics, Pathogenesis and the Dynamics of Herbal Medicine.” Room 322, Academic, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
