Corey McAuliffe, MPH

Adjunct Faculty
  • Focus: Global Health and Public Nutrition
  • Education: Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, MPH, 2011

A Portland native, Corey McAuliffe graduated from The Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University receiving a Master of Public Health with a concentration in global health and public nutrition. While at Emory, she and several colleagues received a grant to create a graduate level nutrition course, Determinants and Health Impact of Food Choices, in addition to initiating an annual food symposium held at the University. They were able to create a collaborative research project between the public health school and local community members, in an effort to increase accessibility to local and more nutritious foods for all.

In the past ten years, Corey has lived in multiple countries around the globe, completing research and working at the community level to combat malnutrition and improve maternal and child health. Some of her research subjects include nutritional assessments, nutrition education program evaluation, and increasing access to local food systems. From her experiences, she hopes to bring a new perspective on cultural competency and global health disparities to NUNM, including those that can be found right here in Oregon.

In her free time, Corey works closely with two non-profit organizations, Africa Bridge and Trash for Peace, as a committed volunteer and board member. She enjoys meeting new people and finding ways to work collaboratively in our global environment.
