Dr. Deah Baird has been practicing naturopathic medicine since 1994. Originally specializing in women’s medicine and home-birth services, she has been operating a practice dedicated to promoting mental and emotional well-being since 2003. Dr. Baird is a certified Hakomi therapist and teacher, finding a beautiful synergy in a practice grounded in the principles of naturopathic medicine and the offering of mindfulness-based, somatically attuned psychotherapy.

Through her long background in the healing professions, Dr. Baird has a deep understanding of the interplay between mental-emotional and physical health, and sees her work as midwifing people toward emotional well-being. She offers a deeply caring therapeutic relationship and provides a resource of emotional capacity and hopeful perspective to her patients and students.

As a teacher, she aspires to bring gentle leadership into the classroom, with an intention to bring clarity of vision and an accessible presentation style to her classes. Dr. Baird views medical education not only as a process of developing skill and expertise, but also as an opportunity to nurture each student’s healing presence, allowing individuals to grow their capacity to be with others in a healing role.
