  • Focus: Women's Health
  • Education:
    • National College of Naturopathic Medicine, ND, 1999
    • Northwestern University, MS, 1993

Women’s health is a lifelong interest of Dr. Peterson’s as a graduate of a women’s college, Smith College. She holds a Master’s in Chemistry and was also a professional chef before devoting her talents to naturopathic medicine. The focus of naturopathic medicine is to nurture health rather than fight disease, and nurturing optimal health is the foundation of Dr. Peterson’s practice.

Dr. Peterson uses her experience as a chef and her passion for good food to help her patients discover that healthy food can be delicious food. To achieve optimal wellness, one must choose foods that nourish rather than stress the body. Many times, we are unaware of the distress and strain the wrong nutrition places on our bodies.

In addition to teaching at NUNM, Dr. Peterson has a private practice in Portland. When she’s not busy being a physician, Dr. Peterson enjoys being a mom, cooking and gardening.
