  • One (1) Full-time, One-Year Position
  • Start date: late August 2017
  • General practice with time primarily spent at the NUNM Lair Hill Health Center with possible shifts at the Beaverton Clinic or community clinics.
  • Assist in academic and open lab settings. Opportunity to teach an elective course in the program during spring term.
  • Strong academic and teaching background preferred.

  • Participate in the care of patients, case discussion, receive mentoring in herbal prescriptions.
  • Option to receive support for training at the Barral Institute through the employee education fund.

  • General practice with specialties in difficult and recalcitrant conditions, orthopedics, autoimmune diseases, allergies, and asthma.
  • This residency focuses on Dr. Tan-style acupuncture and Taiwanese style herbalism.
  • Participate in the care of patients, continuing education, practice management, and marketing.

  • This residency focuses on Worsley Five Element acupuncture, German biological medicine, and French drainage homeopathy
  • Participate in the care of patients, continuing education, practice management, and marketing.

Watershed Wellness, Astoria, OR
Eric Grey, LAc

  • One (1) full-time, 11-month position
  • Start date: October 2017
  • Salary: $25,666.67 for the 11-month contract
  • General rural practice that sees a lot of serious chronic pain, digestive disorders, auto-immune disease, skin conditions and stress/emotional distress. Patients tend to be new to the medicine, and on multiple medications or otherwise embedded in the biomedical system. Naturopathic doctors on the same floor – referrals & interactions are very possible.
  • Participate in the care of patients and overall good functioning of the clinic. Engage in case discussion and skill sharing, receive mentoring in classical Chinese medicine, particularly herbal medicine. Bulk and granule pharmacy available and frequently used.
  • Engage in research and writing to produce patient education and marketing materials of interest to our patient population. Resident will be encouraged to continue their learning process and to develop their interests.
  • Excellent opportunity to learn about and participate in the growth and development of a Chinese medicine business. Additional business, practice management, and personal productivity training and coaching available.
  • LMT (co-owner) and Yoga studio also in the practice – Resident may choose to teach qigong or other movement practices in the space.
  • Supervisor’s primary mentors and teachers: Arnaud Versluys, Heiner Fruehauf, David Berkshire.
  • Modalities practiced include: acu-moxa, Chinese herbalism, limited use of essential oils, lifestyle coaching/counseling and some tuina and qigong.
  • Option to stay on at Watershed Wellness after residency year is completed.

Outside of Oregon

The Zen of Healing, Seattle, WA
David Tucker, MSAOM, LAc, LMP

  • One (1) Full-Time, One-Year Position
  • Start date: January 2017
  • General practice with specialties in: anxiety, depression, chronic illness that has a mental-emotional root cause and using adjunct techniques to help with pain relief and injury rehabilitation.
  • This residency integrates Worsley Five Element acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, bodywork, Zen practices, and mainly patent herbal formulas with some western herbs and supplements.
  • Participate in the care of patients, continuing education, practice management, and marketing.
