NCNM to Officially Open Portland's Largest Natural Health Clinic
PORTLAND, Ore. (September 16, 2009)—National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) is taking a major step forward in the expansion of its campus near downtown Portland with the official grand opening of the new NCNM Clinic. On Friday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m., Portland Mayor Sam Adams and Oregon Sen. Laurie Monnes Anderson, and other dignitaries and guests will cut the ribbon to launch a new chapter in NCNM’s long history.
Student Physicians Learn How to Become Part of U.S. Health Care Solution During Back-to-School Week
PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept. 2, 2009)—As America struggles to reform its health care system, future physicians attending National College of Natural Medicine will start their first year of medical school by learning how they can become part of the solution as they visit several local nonprofit resource centers that provide critical community services.

For the second year in a row, NCNM students went head-to-head with Bastyr in the ZRT Cup Competition and won the battle of medical minds, winning the $10,000 first place prize.

NCNM, otherwise known as “Portland’s Best-Kept Secret,” can soon retire that longtime label. The campus is moving at warp speed toward an exciting—and “friendly”—future. June brought many dramatic changes at the new NCNM Clinic work site and clinic staff is still right on track for its Aug. 18-24 move-in dates.
Oregon Legislature Passes Naturopathic Formulary Bill
PORTLAND, Ore. (June 2, 2009)—Oregon lawmakers today passed Senate Bill 327, expanding the prescribing authority for the state’s approximately 650 licensed naturopathic physicians. In addition to the list of naturally-derived drugs that have long been on the naturopathic formulary, Senate Bill 327 will permit naturopathic doctors to prescribe common primary care pharmaceuticals that are synthetically derived. The passage is seen as a major win for Oregonians, who face a growing shortage of primary care physicians, particularly in the rural and underserved areas of the state.
