The transgender population is no exception; they are more likely to experience trauma. They are often revictimized by well-meaning people who don’t know how to minimize or eliminate further harm. This 1-hour trauma-informed care course with a focus on the transgender population has the following objectives: \n\nIdentify various responses to stress\nRecognize reactions to trauma triggers\nUnderstand how to develop and support resilience\nIdentify strategies to interact with and help trauma survivors\n\nSpeaker: Rook Bartz \nRook Bartz\, RN BSN is a registered nurse with 16 years of experience in trauma and emergency care\, 12 years as a forensic nurse examiner\, and 5 years as a Level I trauma prevention program coordinator. He is an accomplished author\, peer reviewer\, speaker\, and educator with many years of experience delivering educational training seminars to adults of many different professions and walks of life. He presents often to large audiences using motivational\, empowering\, and impassioned methods to recruit others on his crusade of health equity and safety for all. \nFor more information\, contact kdillon@nunm.edu. \nTime: 11 am-noon \nLocation: NUNM Academic Building\, Room 310 | Mitchell Hall \n
