If you have high blood pressure, arthritis or atrial fibrillation you may be eligble to learn your epigenetic age by joining our research study!

NUNM’s Helfgott Research Institute is recruiting for a study to assess the impact of ionized calcium supplementation on biological aging and quality of life.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are age 55-75 years
  • Have a diagnosis of high blood pressure, osteoarthritis or non-valvular atrial fibrillation
  • Are willing to be randomized to take either a placebo or an ionized calcium supplement daily for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, all participants will receive the ionized calcium supplement for another 12 weeks
  • Are willing to fast overnight and have blood collected on 6 occasions
  • Can attend a screening visit and 5 study visits at the Helfgott Research Institute in Portland

If you are eligible and enroll in the study, you may:

  • Be compensated with up to $900.
  • Receive a measure of your biological age based on an epigenetic “clock”
  • Receive a measure of your bone density
  • Receive a free battery of blood test results
