If you have high blood pressure, arthritis or atrial fibrillation you may be eligble to learn your epigenetic age by joining our research study!
NUNM’s Helfgott Research Institute is recruiting for a study to assess the impact of ionized calcium supplementation on biological aging and quality of life.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are age 55-75 years
- Have a diagnosis of high blood pressure, osteoarthritis or non-valvular atrial fibrillation
- Are willing to be randomized to take either a placebo or an ionized calcium supplement daily for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, all participants will receive the ionized calcium supplement for another 12 weeks
- Are willing to fast overnight and have blood collected on 6 occasions
- Can attend a screening visit and 5 study visits at the Helfgott Research Institute in Portland
If you are eligible and enroll in the study, you may:
- Be compensated with up to $900.
- Receive a measure of your biological age based on an epigenetic “clock”
- Receive a measure of your bone density
- Receive a free battery of blood test results
