Access Services Coordinator

Assists in various library services including: circulation, cataloging, serials, reference, interlibrary loans, and acquisitions, audiovisual and computing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire, train, schedule and supervise student assistants.
Maintain and update the student assistant training manual as needed.
Work at the front desk as needed and perform all the front desk duties.
Manage the interlibrary loan program and process all requests.
Assist in managing serials; including check-ins, claims, preparing materials for the bindery and updating serial lists and web pages.
Assist librarians with cataloging when necessary.
Help maintain copy machines, computers, printers and other library equipment.
Assist in receiving and handling new materials.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree required and two years of library experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A familiarity with basic library services, including circulation, reference, and cataloging and knowledge of and experience with web based library resources, database searching, and general computer applications.
Current enrollment in MLS program preferred.
Experience in an academic or medical library setting with coursework in library science desired.
Supervisory responsibilities include the hiring, training and supervision of student assistants, which is also shared with other members of the library team.
