This position plans, organizes, and hosts continuing medical education conferences for naturopathic doctors, Chinese medicine practitioners, and other health care professionals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement a strategic plan for continuing medical education by researching, proposing, coordinating, and delivering continuing education programs for licensed naturopathic doctors, Chinese medicine practitioners, and other health care professionals.

Plan all aspects of continuing medical education conferences which are hosted on campus or online. Reserve rooms, secure catering, manage conference registrations, and schedule technical support. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all tasks related to the production of all conferences are completed in a timely and professional manner.

Develop an annual agenda of conference topics using survey data from alumni, students, and other medical professionals. Develop a marketing strategy to promote each conference. Track income and expenses to ensure that each conference is well-attended and financially profitable. Research professional trends to identify and develop new strategic opportunities for revenue generation.

Identify presenters for each conference who have expertise in the conference topic. Contact potential presenters to recruit them as speakers and negotiate their financial compensation or honorarium as independent contractors. Investigate the development of a “call for proposals” process to solicit conference presentation proposals.

Act as the emcee or host of each conference, welcoming attendees to the conference, introducing each speaker, moderating Q&A sessions or panel discussions, and ensuring that the conference runs according to schedule.

Manage the process of applying for continuing medical education credit with the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine (OBNM), the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), or other similar licensing bodies. Provide conference presenters with deadlines for submitting presentation descriptions that are required for continuing medical education credit applications. Compile and submit materials from conference presenters to licensing bodies for credit applications.

Confer with state health professional licensing authorities in all licensed states and Canadian provinces to validate CE offerings as needed. Liaise routinely with professional organizations such as AANP, OANP, and other state naturopathic associations, acupuncture associations, OAAOM, NABNE and other professional organizations as needed.

Plan and execute Continuing Education program development and routinely review the appropriateness, quality, and success of Continuing Education program activity, policies and procedures.
