The Staff Physician is responsible for ensuring the highest quality medical care in the Health Centers by providing patient-centered care and supporting all aspects of clinical care delivery. This position supports the medical and operational aspects of the clinical environment and serves as the Epic Lead Provider. This is a 30 hour-per-week position with one additional faculty assignment of a student teaching shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide 10-15 hours of direct, patient-centered medical care weekly.
- Provide or manage emergency care to patients.
- Serve as locum on shifts when the assigned supervisor and residents are unavailable for shift coverage and support shifts as needed in a busy and dynamic patient care environment.
- Serve as the Health Centers Epic Lead Provider working with the Epic Team to strengthen the EHR training of providers, staff and students and improving workflows.
- Support the Associate CMO in the Infectious Disease Program: monitor and research best practices in regard to infectious diseases (including COVID-19) response including but not limited to and any symptom reporting, vaccination, testing and tracking protocols and workflows as needed.
- Lead one Care Team, providing support and coaching to Team for patient-centered best practices, and continuous quality improvement.
- Serve as a core member on the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Team that plans, develops, implements, and reports on ongoing improvement in all relevant metrics and best practices necessary for a Patient Centered Primary Care Home and participant in the CareOregon Primary Care Payment Model program.
- Support the CMO, Associate CMO and VPHC as necessary.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
ND degree with current OR licensure required. Graduate medical education is preferred. The individual must demonstrate experience and/or skills in the area of primary care medicine. Minimum of five (5) years of successful full-time clinical practice or completion of 2 years of an CNME-accredited residency required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate competency commensurate with the full scope of their medical license, including pharmaceuticals, NMT, women’s health, and nature cure modalities. Candidates fluent in Epic EHR use and management required.
