NUNM’s School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies is seeking an adjunct academic faculty member to teach Nutritional Genetics.
Adjunct faculty members perform instructional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies, and procedures of the University and appropriate to the individual assignment. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor and facilitator of learning.
Course Name: GSN 564E: Nutritional Genetics (graduate course)
Term: Spring 2025 (Begins April 7th, 2025 – Ends June 28th, 2025)
Course Credits: 2 ($1061/credit)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Have you ever wondered if your diet affects your genes? Or whether your genes affect what you can eat? Students in this course examine the relationship between genetics, metabolism and diet. Topics include how diet can affect epigenetic patterns and gene expression, how our metabolic response to food has been shaped by genetic variation, and how our health is impacted by the interplay of genetics and diet. Students will also consider the utility of using genetic information to make dietary choices.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have education, experience, skill and knowledge in the area they will be teaching. Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred. This course will be taught online. Interviewing for this position will also take place online.
