POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Food as Medicine Institute’s (FAMI) Content Creation Specialist develops engaging content in alignment with the FAMI mission and guiding principles across social media platforms, the FAMI website, and FAME programming. This position focuses on increasing brand awareness, engagement, and user experience on social media and the website.  Additionally, this position collaborates with FAMI staff to develop educational content and support the annual Symposium.

This is a one-year, grant-funded position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Website/Social Media Content

  • Develop and maintain a calendar for publishing content across FAMI online platforms (website, social media accounts)
  • Write, design, and edit nutrition-related content for FAMI online platforms, to be published on a regular schedule (including written and visual media formats)
  • Research market trends and best practices to increase engagement and reach new audiences
  • Coordinate with the Marketing department to ensure alignment of content promotion

Educational Content

  • Design and develop educational content that aligns with FAMI goals and standards
  • Provide support to FAMI staff in the revision of existing FAMI programming

Food as Medicine Symposium

  • Assist FAMI staff in creating an annual symposium theme
  • Identify and work with vendors alongside the CE and FAMI teams
  • Participate in creation and distribution of marketing materials
  • Update and maintain FAMI website, including event details and registration pages
  • Support day-of event logistics, including registration, vendor communication, speaker greetings, coordination of work-study students, and catering.
  • Attend FAMI Symposium planning meetings

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health and wellness, or related field.
  • Completed Food as Medicine Everyday (FAME) Educator training.
  • Experience with social media and website content development (landing pages, blog posts, etc.) and website optimization.
  • Experience with video editing and creation.
  • Experience with PubMed and/or Google Scholar.
  • Knowledge of influencer marketing and content partnerships.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
  • Experience working with databases, course management, scheduling and/or reference management software strongly preferred.
