NUNM’s School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies is seeking an adjunct academic faculty member to teach General Chemistry I with Lab, General Chemistry II with Lab, Organic Chemistry I with Lab, and Organic Chemistry II with Lab.

Adjunct faculty members perform instructional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies, and procedures of the University and appropriate to the individual assignment. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor and facilitator of learning.

 

Course Name: NS315: General Chemistry I with Lab (undergraduate course)
Term: Fall 2025 (Begins September 15th, 2025 – Ends December 13th, 2025)
Course Credits: 3 ($1061/credit)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an accelerated version of General Chemistry I. It includes a lab, and covers topics, including measurements, atoms, ions, and molecules, chemical formulas and equations, stoichiometry, states of matter, thermochemistry, atomic theory, ionic and covalent bonding, molecular geometry, and solutions.

 

Course Name: NS325: General Chemistry II with Lab (undergraduate course)
Term: Winter 2026 (Begins January 5th, 2026 – Ends March 28th, 2026)
Course Credits: 3 ($1061/credit)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is an accelerated version of General Chemistry II. It includes a lab, and covers topics, including rates of reaction, chemical equilibria, acids and basis, plus chemical properties of main group elements and transition elements. This course will also cover introductions to electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, organic chemistry (carbon bonding) and polymer chemistry.

 

Course Name: NS324: Organic Chemistry I with Lab (undergraduate course)
Term: Spring 2026 (Begins April 6th, 2026 – Ends June 27th, 2026)
Course Credits: 3 ($1061/credit)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
An introduction to the molecular basis of living processes in bacteria, plants and humans. This course provides a foundation in the chemistry of carbon-containing compounds, including three-dimensional structures; chemical properties; and methods of structural identification, reactions and syntheses. Students also learn about the organic chemistry of specific pharmaceuticals and detoxification pathways.

 

Course Name: NS334: Organic Chemistry II with Lab (undergraduate course)
Term: Fall 2025 (Begins September 15th, 2025 – Ends December 13th, 2025)
Course Credits: 3 ($1061/credit)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have education, experience, skill and knowledge in the area they will be teaching. Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred. This course can be taught online, and interviewing will take place online as well.
