POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Revenue Manager oversees institutional revenue operations within the business office and health center billing departments, ensuring accurate, timely, and optimized collection of tuition, clinic, and third party payments. This role bridges finance and operations, focusing on revenue integrity, billing performance, payer management, AR optimization, and modernization of billing systems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue Integrity & Oversight

  • Own end‑to‑end revenue cycle for clinic and student accounts.
  • Monitor charges, coding, claims, collections, and payment posting.
  • Develop KPIs for days in AR, denial rates, payer mix, and net collection rate.
  • Support the CFO in monthly bank and account reconciliations.

Clinic Billing Leadership

  • Supervise clinic billing and credentialing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with payer rules and documentation standards.
  • Analyze payer contracts and reimbursement performance. Support contract negotiation and payer strategy.

Student & Institutional AR

  • Oversee student account billing and collections strategy.
  • Partner with Financial Aid and Registrar on account accuracy.
  • Reduce aged receivables and improve cash flow.

Automation & Systems

  • Optimize systems to ensure the SIS (Core Campus), Epic/OCHIN and MIP/Abila are being utilized to their full capacity.
  • Expand electronic payments, auto‑posting, and workflow tools.
  • Reduce manual tracking/processing

Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce monthly revenue and variance reports.
  • Identify trends and improvement opportunities.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Train staff on revenue best practices.
  • Partner with clinical, academic, and administrative leaders.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • 4+ years experience in revenue cycle, healthcare billing, or higher‑ed AR.
  • Epic/OCHIN, MIP/Abila, or similar experience preferred.
