Dr. Guangying Zhou brings more than 25 years of clinical experience in Chinese medicine to the NUNM Health Centers. While specializing in gynecology and pediatrics, she successfully treats many conditions:

  • infertility/fertility
  • menstrual disorders
  • menopause syndromes
  • PMS
  • skin conditions
  • digestive disorders
  • pain syndromes
  • diabetes

She also uses acupuncture and herbs to aid in facial care and anti-aging.

Along with her clinical work at the NUNM Health Centers, Dr. Zhou has been an instructor at NUNM’s College of Classical Chinese Medicine since 2003. Through the Helfgott Research Institute at NUNM, she directs a series of ongoing research projects on menstrual disorders, diabetes, obesity, and anti-senility. From her research she has written many published articles on various effects of acupuncture and Chinese herbs on conditions including diabetes, menstruation, herpes zoster, and ankle strain.

Prior to her work at NUNM, Dr. Zhou practiced medicine, taught, and researched as an associate professor and associate chief physician at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s hospital, West China University of Medical Sciences, and Sichuan Continuing Educational College of Medical Sciences. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Master of Medical Science, and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of TCM.

Dr. Zhou also has a private practice at Golden Needle Acupuncture Clinic in northwest Portland. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Zhou enjoys Chinese calligraphy and classical Chinese music (Beijing Opera).
