I just returned from my second annual stay at the Naturopathic Revitalization Retreat. It was amazing! I feel so blessed to have had such a rejuvenating and inspiring weekend. The weekend was spent with NCNM students of all years, NDs that have graduated in the last five years, and most importantly, an all-star group of ND Elders that have been in practice for 20+ years. The Eclectic Institute is a beautiful farm on the Sandy River that graciously hosts us as we camp, swim, commune with nature, and learn from each other. As a bonus, the food was delicious, gourmet, and reminded me that food is the first line of health. From herb walks, to mud baths, to the importance of love and heart in our medicine, the weekend was so special. The Elders shared stories about the origins of the naturopathic principles and how they use the philosophy to heal their patients. The retreat will keep me grounded and remind me why I am on this journey as the school year ramps up and the stress of exams creeps in. This is a truly special community and lineage that we get to be a part of.
