A new documentary series “Getting to the Point” explores how acupuncture is making inroads into modern medicine. Co-produced and directed by the award winning filmmaker Doug Dearth (9000 Needles), the first episode “Children’s Hospital of Orange County” chronicles the work being done by a licensed acupuncturist in a leading children’s hospital treating children with serious illnesses, including cancer.

This free 30-minute documentary features interviews with the families of two young boys diagnosed with brain cancer who received regular acupuncture throughout 18 month of chemotherapy, and details how these treatments eased their fatigue, nausea and pain—greatly helped by acupuncture and related Chinese medicine therapies.
