Real-world programs in 10 countries are available to students for elective credit and Global Health Fieldwork projects.

The National University of Natural Medicine recently formalized a partnership with Child Family Health International (CFHI), a non-profit organization that provides service-learning and fieldwork opportunities for students in more than 10 different countries.
During the Spring term, NUNM will host a webinar with CFHI so you can learn more about these opportunities and how to register if you’re interested in participating. These are available for elective credit and/or for Global Health Fieldwork projects.
CFHI’s Global Health Fieldwork Experience, also known as a practicum, provides a structured opportunity for students to apply their skills, knowledge, and values in real-world global health settings while being mentored by a CFHI preceptor. CFHI offers programs across the globe, from Argentina to the Philippines to Uganda.
Using an Asset-Based Community Development approach, CFHI ensures that all practicum projects align optimally with student skills and interests and are also locally led, aligned with the needs of global leaders and their programmatic needs/operations, and built on existing strengths and resources. Student fieldwork experiences might include developing health education materials, conducting case study analysis, reviewing programmatic operations to identify areas of improvement alongside local healthcare administrators, or co-facilitating training, among others.
