Comprehensive Research Evidence Synthesis Training (CREST)

CREST is a collaborative hub dedicated to advancing the science and practice of evidence synthesis.

The Comprehensive Research Evidence Synthesis Training (CREST) Program is an interdisciplinary initiative focused on advancing the science and practice of evidence synthesis. The program trains clinicians, researchers, and trainees to conduct rigorous systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and other forms of evidence synthesis that translate complex scientific literature into clear, actionable evidence for clinical practice and health policy. Through structured methodological training combined with hands-on research experience, CREST equips participants with practical skills in protocol development, literature searching, study appraisal, quantitative synthesis, and interpretation of evidence.

CREST emphasizes team-based mentorship and collaborative research, bringing together trainees and experienced investigators to work on real evidence-synthesis projects addressing clinically relevant questions. Participants learn the full lifecycle of systematic reviews while contributing to ongoing research.

Its mission is to accelerate translation of high-quality evidence into clinical guidelines, and strengthen global research networks focused on data-driven, patient-centered care.
