Dr. Sharpe teaches General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Grant Writing at NUNM. She also conducts clinical human research at the Helfgott Research Institute. Her research interests include mind-body practices, natural products, and music, and she has been active in running trials exploring the effects of yoga nidra on insomnia and anxiety, and of pranayama on heart rate variability and endothelial function. She has also continued laboratory research on antioxidant capacities of mushroom extracts, as a continuation of her PhD research that focused on nanoparticle-based portable antioxidant detection methods for use in foods and botanical medicines. With formal training in chemistry, music, and yoga, she enjoys NUNM as a place where her multiple interests can come together in the pursuit of impactful teaching and research within the field of natural medicine and holistic living.
