Dr. Tammy Ashney completed her naturopathic medical school training at NCNM (now NUNM) in 2009. She completed three years of residency: one year of general medicine residency through NCNM and two years of an integrative women’s health residency under the supervision of Tori Hudson, ND, at A Woman’s Time. As a doctoral student, Dr. Ashney received numerous scholarships, a certificate in natural childbirth, and completed a two-year mentorship in naturopathic women’s health. Prior to her naturopathic training, she earned a BA in Anthropology and Women’s Studies from James Madison University in Virginia in 1999.
Dr. Ashney enjoys general family practice and is particularly skilled in hormone therapy, sexual health, herbal medicine and nutrition. She has completed extensive training in environmental medicine/chelation therapy with Walter Crinnion, ND, and through the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) where she maintains her certification. She is also a certified Holistic Pelvic Care™ provider, combining gentle intervaginal massage and breathwork to help realign pelvic floor musculature and promote healing.
In addition to being passionate about naturopathic family practice, Dr. Ashney continues to give back to the profession as a full-time faculty member at NUNM teaching courses such as gynecology lab, advanced gynecology, environmental medicine, IV therapy lab, and clinical physical diagnosis.
When not practicing medicine Dr. Ashney enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, biking, or simply sharing a wholesome delicious meal.
