Emma Neiworth Petshow, ND, CPT is an associate professor of cardiology, clinical sciences, pathology, and women’s health at NUNM in the College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Petshow earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at NUNM in 2018 and then completed a two-year post-doctoral CNME accredited naturopathic medicine residency in integrative primary care and naturopathic medicine.
Dr. Petshow has a passion for clinical sciences and brings extensive experience in both undergraduate and graduate education to NUNM. Prior to her current role, she was a professor in the Natural Sciences and Health Division at Warner Pacific University, where she taught a variety of courses including anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, and microbiology. Dr. Petshow completed her undergraduate studies at Portland State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies: Health Sciences, Pre-Naturopathic Medicine and General Science.
Outside of her educational pursuits, Dr. Petshow is a licensed, naturopathic physician in the state of Oregon and clinical faculty at the NUNM Lair Hill Clinic where she practices primary care. Her clinical focus is family medicine, cardiopulmonary disease and prevention, sports medicine, and women’s health.
She was the founder and owner of EmPower U Health and Wellness LLC, a health education company, where she offered a variety of health and wellness services including naturopathic medicine, nutrition counseling, and personal training. Her clinical experience is diverse and she has expertise and additional training in global health, emergency medicine, IV therapy, and nutrition counseling.
When not working or seeing patients, Dr. Petshow enjoys spending time with her family and dog Ella, coaching track and field, hiking in the Columbia River Gorge, and spending time in nature.
