Adjunct Faculty
  • Focus: Classical Chinese Medicine
  • Education: National University of Natural Medicine, 2015

Lauri Elizabeth, LAc, is a Board Certified Acupuncturist, certified Alexander Technique Teacher, and Adjunct Faculty member at National University of Natural Medicine.

Lauri practices a gentle style of acupuncture, drawing from multiple Japanese styles. Her training emphasized pulse diagnosis and palpation to determine the necessary treatment and shallow insertions or non-insertive needling techniques. She also uses a variety of acupuncture-related modalities, like cupping, gua sha, bodywork, polarity tools, and moxibustion. She is continually fascinated by the profound changes that are possible using a gentle treatment style.

Lauri really enjoys working with people on reproductive health, pregnancy, and post-partum care. She also has a strong clinical interest in working with people who have chronic pain and chronic illness, like PCOS, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, and Joint Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). She has seen how helpful gentle acupuncture and bodywork are for people with chronic illness and is truly passionate about helping people live with less pain.

Lauri graduated summa cum laude, earning a Master of Acupuncture (MAc) degree from National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in 2015. She then went on to complete a one-year post-graduate residency at NUNM, a rare opportunity to assist in the student clinic, start her private practice, and teach an elective class in the program. She was subsequently hired to run the residency program as the AOM Residency Director at NUNM. Prior to her acupuncture training, she taught the Alexander Technique privately and at Marylhurst University starting in 2003.
