She/Her
Career Services Advisor
  • Education: Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine – 1998, OCOM
  • Curriculum vitae

Lisa graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 1998 and has spent the past 27+ years as a licensed acupuncturist and small-business owner in Portland, specializing in reproductive health. Over those years running her own clinic, she has navigated the real-world questions integrative medicine practitioners face – how to launch, how to grow, how to make it sustainable, and how to keep the work aligned with the reasons you chose this path in the first place.

That lived experience is what she brings to her work with NUNM students and alumni. As Career Services Advisor, Lisa supports learners across all programs on everything from resumes, cover letters, and interview prep to residency and scholarship applications, and long-term career and practice-building strategy. She’s especially passionate about helping integrative medicine professionals build careers that reflect their values – whether that means joining a clinic, launching a practice, teaching, researching, or forging a path no one’s mapped out yet.

Lisa also serves as adjunct faculty and clinical supervisor at NUNM, teaching business and practice-management courses, ethics and jurisprudence, and additional courses in Chinese medicine. She currently serves on the Oregon Medical Board’s Acupuncture Advisory Committee, and has served two years on the board of the Oregon Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

Whether you have a clear plan for the future or absolutely no idea what’s next, Lisa would love to meet you. Come say Hi in Room 346.

“You deserve a career that feels like yours — and you don’t have to figure it out alone!”
