I guide and support students coming into their own as Chinese medicine practitioners. Being from a family of teachers, I understand learning as an engaged, collaborative project. I act as a mentor, with a particular focus on musculo-skeletal and emotional issues, which I understand to be intimately related. Having a background as a massage therapist, softball player, and bike commuter, I have worked with many patients who have physical issues and challenges, having found there is usually a Shen component to struggles with pain and discomfort. Many of the patients in my private practice are also confronting emotional states of depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I teach treating people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects as an integrated whole.
