Brenna Bray, PhD

Post-doctoral Research Investigator

Dr. Bray is a Post-doctoral Research Investigator in the Helfgott Research Institute. She is committed to producing interdisciplinary clinical research that explores psychological and biomedical outcomes associated with complementary and integrative health (CIH) treatment approaches to mental health problems (binge eating disorder) and underlying hormonal dysregulations. Dr. Bray received her PhD in Biomedical Science and Neuroscience from the University of South Dakota’s Graduate School in conjunction with the Sanford School of Medicine in 2018. She is currently receiving clinical research training in the NIH-funded R90 program at NUNM. Her research interests include testing and identifying overlapping underlying neural and hormonal underpinnings and CIH interventions that exist in eating disorders, stress disorders, and substance use disorders. She is also passionate about producing research that tests the effects of a whole-foods plant-based diet on hormone regulation.
