Dr. Ryan is an Assistant Research Investigator in the Helfgott Research Institute. Dr. Ryan earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and a Master of Science in Integrative Medicine Research from National University of Natural Medicine. She earned her BS in Biology from the University of New Hampshire (summa cum laude). Prior to her clinical training, Dr. Ryan was a basic science researcher at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute and the University of California, San Diego, branch of Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. Her clinical research projects focus on nutrition and dietary supplements with digestive and cardiovascular health applications. Current projects involve herbal medicines, probiotics, prebiotics and the gut microbiome.
