Help us explore if a weighted blanket can help ease chronic pain.
We’re inviting individuals living with chronic pain to take part in a paid research study that looks at whether sleeping with a weighted blanket can make a meaningful difference in daily comfort and well-being.
If you’re eligible and complete the study, you will receive a $40 gift card via TREMENDOUS and get to keep the weighted blanket you use (valued at $269-329).
Researchers at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) want to understand how nightly use of a weighted blanket, about 10% of your body weight, may support people experiencing chronic pain (3 months or longer).
What Participation Looks Like:
- Use a weighted blanket every night for 7 days to get accustomed to it
- Continue using it for another 28 days during the study
- Complete online surveys throughout the 5-week period
- Attend two 60-minute study visits and one 15-minute study visit, all virtual, and communicate via email
- Can complete a health history survey (est. 15-20 min) at the first visit, open-ended survey questions (est. 15-20 minutes) at the first and last visit, two online questionnaires (est. 10 minutes) before beginning the Run-in/Baseline week, and complete brief surveys on a weekly basis to monitor blanket adherence and safety for increases in pain.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Meet the study’s criteria for chronic pain
- Can lift a 15–25 lb. weighted blanket
- Are willing to use the blanket nightly for 35 nights
- Can complete online questionnaires over 5 weeks
- Can attend three virtual visits
If you’re curious about whether weighted blankets truly help, this is your chance to be part of finding the answer.
