What is the Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) at NUNM?

NUNM’s Master of Science in Clinical Research is a unique program that is designed to help students to gain a working knowledge of integrative medicine and health, critically evaluate

scientific literature, lead clinical studies, and use evidence-based research methods in order to advance the field of natural medicine.  

What makes NUNM’s clinical research program unique?

NUNM’s MSCR program is unique in that it pairs students with experienced mentors in the field of natural medicine — either from NUNM itself or with one of our numerous partnerships from around the world.

Because of these diverse relationships, students can explore research projects that interest and excite them while having one-on-one guidance throughout the clinical research project process.

Is the NUNM MSCR program online or in person?

NUNM’s Master of Science in Clinical Research is an online program.

How long does it take to complete the MSCR degree?

Assuming that prospective students have already completed their bachelor’s degree (or equivalent credits from accredited colleges and universities), the Master of Science in Clinical Research program at NUNM is a two-year, 66-credit program.

What are the admission requirements for the MSCR program?

Student prospects should have completed their bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) with a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered for admission to NUNM’s Master of Science in Clinical Research program.

Do I need a science or medical background to apply?

No, you do not need to have a background in medicine or science in order to be considered for the Master of Science in Clinical Research program. Courses relevant to your research can be taken in order to complete program requirements. 

Students in the program have historically come with diverse backgrounds and undergraduate degrees and an enthusiasm for the clinical research process.

Can international students apply?

Yes, international students are encouraged to apply so long as they meet the application requirements.

What will I learn in the MSCR program?

The Master of Science in Clinical Research program combines an education in integrative medicine with an equally rigorous scholarship in evidence-based clinical research techniques.

Students will learn various research and analysis methodologies, data collection processes, and approaches for designing studies centering on integrative and holistic medicine, led by NUNM faculty and mentors from respected institutions across the globe.

What is the cost-per-credit at NUNM?

The cost-per-credit for the MSCR program is $538 

Is tuition different for out-of-state students?

No! Since NUNM is a private institution, we are not restricted to state resident requirements for tuition. You’ll pay the same per-credit hour as an Oregon resident.

What careers do MSCR graduates pursue?

MSCR graduates are eligible for a variety of research-oriented career post-graduation, including those in academia, healthcare, and the biomedical sciences.

Due to the MSCR program’s focus on research, research design, statistics, and evidence-based care, graduates often work in colleges or universities, research centers, hospitals, biotech institutions, supplement companies, and other clinical settings.
