Take Pride: A blueprint for inclusive care

This session will support the goal of eliminating health disparities by addressing the discrimination and marginalization LGBTQ+ people experience in accessing health care. The role of leaders will be defined, as well as strategies for practicing gender-affirming care. Leaders are essential to delivering on the goal to be an anti-racist organization, so please do what you can to attend this session.

The learning objectives are:

  • Describe the health disparities of the LGBTQ+ population
  • Model gender-affirming care as a leader
  • Define strategies to delivering gender-affirming care

Speaker: Rook Bartz

Rook Bartz, RN BSN is a registered nurse with 16 years of experience in trauma and emergency care, 12 years as a forensic nurse examiner, and 5 years as a Level I trauma prevention program coordinator. He is an accomplished author, peer reviewer, speaker, and educator with many years of experience delivering educational training seminars to adults of many different professions and walks of life. He presents often to large audiences using motivational, empowering, and impassioned methods to recruit others on his crusade of health equity and safety for all.
