Welcoming the next class of natural medicine leaders.

New Student Orientation marks the beginning of each student’s academic journey at the National University of Natural Medicine. Through academic, co-curricular, and community-building experiences, Orientation introduces new students to the people, resources, services, and expectations that will support their transition to university life. Students will also have opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, student leaders, and peers as they become part of the NUNM community.

Fall 2026 New Student Orientation

Fall 2026 New Student Orientation will take place September 4–11, 2026. Orientation includes university-wide and program-specific sessions offered online, on campus, or in a hybrid format, depending on the student’s academic program.

Students should review the Fall 2026 Orientation Schedule to determine which sessions apply to their program. Teams links, final room assignments, and any schedule updates will be shared through students’ NUNM email and the Orientation and Transition course in Canvas.

Friday, September 4 — Online University-wide Orientation

9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Pacific Time
Location: Microsoft Teams

For students in the following programs:

Program-specific sessions will be held for:

• Naturopathic Medicine

• School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies – Graduate programs
• School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies – Undergraduate programs

Sessions will be offered through Microsoft Teams, on campus, or in a hybrid format, depending on the program.

1:00–3:00 p.m. — Dual-degree Student Orientation

For students enrolled in:

• ND/CM
• ND/Research
• ND/Global Health
• ND/Nutrition

Location: Microsoft Teams and NUNM; final room information will be provided through NUNM email and Canvas.

Dual-degree students should attend their primary program’s morning orientation and the Dual-degree Student Orientation in the afternoon.

Thursday, September 10 — Additional Program-Specific Orientation

For students in:

• School of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies undergraduate and graduate programs.

Students who are expected to attend will receive confirmation, Teams access information, and additional instructions through their NUNM email and Canvas.

1:00–3:00 p.m. — Helfgott Research Institute Information Session

Open to interested students.

3:00–5:00 p.m. — White Coat Ceremony

For Naturopathic Medicine students only.

Location: Cronin Hall – Room 208. Additional ceremony information will be provided directly to participating students.

Preparing for Orientation

Before Orientation begins, students should:

• Activate and regularly check their NUNM email;
• Confirm that they can access Canvas;
• Review the Orientation and Transition Canvas course;
• Download or test Microsoft Teams;
• Review the schedule for their academic program; and
• Contact Student Life if they are uncertain about which sessions they should attend.

Students should bring a laptop or other internet-enabled device to sessions when instructed by their program.

Unless otherwise indicated in the Orientation schedule, on-campus Orientation activities will take place in the NUNM Building.

Parking and Transportation

Parking on and around the NUNM campus is limited and cannot be guaranteed. Students should allow additional time to park and arrive at their scheduled sessions.

Beginning September 1, 2026, NUNM students will no longer be permitted to use the parking lot at the former Academic Building for activities at the NUNM Health Center. Students attending TB testing on September 8 should follow the parking and arrival instructions provided before Orientation.

Students are encouraged to consider public transportation, carpooling, biking, or other transportation options when possible.
