CAM Journal Clubs

Journal clubs are a great way to learn about current research and evidence–based medicine. There are several options including NUNM’s own journal club as well as those held at OHSU and Kaiser.

NUNM Journal Club

One or more journal club courses are held each term, course number RES 501. Check the course schedule for the current meeting day, time and topic. Students may enroll for ND or MSIMR program credit. Students, faculty and alumni are invited to attend this course.

OHSU CAM in Neuroscience Reading Group

Held the first Tuesday of the month from 2:30–3:30 p.m. in room 12D03 of the Hatfield Research Center, OHSU Marquam Hill Campus. Please contact Andy Fish to be placed on the mailing list and receive journal articles in advance. Upcoming meeting dates for 2016 are November 1 and December 6 (no October meeting).

Kaiser Permanente CAM Journal Club

The Kaiser Permanente CAM Journal Club meets quarterly on the first Wednesday evening of the month in March, June, September, and December from 6:30-8:00 p.m. All meetings are held in the Kaiser Permanente Building, 500 NE Multnomah Street, Portland OR 97232, 1st floor Conference Room 1. OCIM Integrative Medicine Lecture Series

The Oregon Collaborative for Integrative Medicine (OCIM) Lecture Series (formerly ‘CAM Grand Rounds’) includes a panel discussion with experts from the allopathic field, spirituality, mind–body medicine, naturopathy, chiropractic and traditional Chinese medicine. The panelists discuss their treatment approach to common health conditions for an anonymous patient’s case. The OCIM Lecture Series is attended by medical and complementary health care institution faculty, residents, staff, students, patients and is open to the community. Visit OCIM for details.
