TB Testing Requirement
All NUNM students, employees and volunteers are required to be tested for TB as the risk of contracting TB in a medical setting may be high. To learn more, please read our TB Screening FAQ.
We encourage you to complete TB as soon as you have deposited. However, TB testing is offered at Orientation in-person. If you choose this option, you will need to pick up your results at the clinic and upload to CastleBranch to be compliant.
Drug Testing Requirement (Clinical Students)
The state of Oregon passed legislation in 2014 that requires health professional students to complete a 10-panel drug test 30 days prior to entering clinical placement.
To simplify the process, NUNM adopted a policy that all students will complete the drug test within 30 days prior to the start of your term — between August 16 and September 14, 2025. Please do not complete before August 16, 2025.
To learn more, read our Drug Testing Policy & Procedures and FAQ.
Background Check Requirement

Criminal Conviction
The existence of a criminal conviction does not necessarily mean that you will be unable to enroll at NUNM. Each case is carefully evaluated based on its merit and record. The nature, type, and severity of the crime will be assessed and evaluated in relation to the requirements and policies of NUNM.
Admitted students are selected regardless of age, sex, race, national or ethnic origin, religion, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, marital status or family relationship.
