If you are looking for a new way to spend your “wellness” hour each week, there are three new groups looking for members/participants.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays in winter term beginning Jan. 8 in the Energy medicine Room (Academic Bldg. room 305). Join us for a weekly mindfulness practice designed to promote present moment awareness, while reducing stress and anxiety. Together we will explore breathing exercises, self-compassion, mindfulness and time in nature.

Feeling Tense? Unwind with yoga! Stretch those tired muscles stiffened from sitting at a computer or cramped over a book. The NUNM Yoga Collective invites everyone on campus to join them as they offer five classes per week to help folks feel more grounded and centered during the day. Monthly book club held during lunch hour on third Thursdays of month. Focus will be fiction books, recent, not so recent and classic. Books will be selected by the club members one month and discussed the following month. Discussions will be member led – alternating discussion leader each month. Monthly Bunco Game
Bunco is a popular dice game that is easy to learn and lots of fun. It is entirely based on luck not skill and so experienced and new players are welcome. You play in groups of 4 and there is lots of movement as players move to a new table after each game. Maximum attendance at 16 players. Next meeting for October – TBA.

The Rainbow Room
The Rainbow Room ERG is a supportive space for staff who identify as queer and questioning and for all allies. The group will hold meetings every first Wed. and third Thursday. Meetings will take place in Ken Harmon Community Room from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Choose Happiness at Work
Join NUNM staff and faculty, the first and third Thursdays of each month from 11 a.m. to noon in Scott South conference room (room 223) to participate in a card game based on the science of happiness.
